Achilleion Palace. Corfu island


Achilleion Palace can be found in the village of Gastouri, 10 km south west of Corfu town. Following the national road Corfu – Achilleion and turning left at Ponti, the twisting road ascends through the olive groves to the village of Agioi Deka, and finally arriving in the village of Gastouri.


Dassia is located on the northeast coast of Corfu, 13 km from the capital. The area has been a favorite tourist meeting point because of the warm water, with internal currents running water that flows into the sea.


Nissaki beach, situated 22 km north of Corfu town is a stunning pebbly beach, famous for its crystal waters. Due to its sheltered location it is protected from strong winds.


Paleokastritsa is 25 km northwest of Corfu town. The village offers a plethora of local taverns overlooking the blue bay and six sandy and pebbled beaches which are scattered all around the area.


Sidari consists of two beaches. The first is organized with white sand, umbrellas and a beach bar, where you can indulge in water sports for young and old, for beginners and more experienced. The second beach of Sidari is shorter, with darker hue sand. A few steps away, you will find the famous Canal d’ Amour.


Acharavi is 37 km from Corfu town. It is the capital of the prefecture of Thinalio and a tourist resort. It has a long beach that is well organized and equipped with facilities for water sports.

The village of Kassiopi lies 38 km north of Corfu town, opposite the Albanian coastline. Kassiopi is still a working fishing port, so you can sit and watch the boats coming in with the daily catch. The village has been developed to a very popular tourist resort with many bars, taverns, restaurants with particularly fresh fish thanks to the fishermen.


Marathias beach is a beautiful resort in the southwest of Corfu. It is highly recommended for the crystal clear waters and the golden sand. There are many activities in the area and the beach offers umbrellas and sun-decks on one side. However, just a few meters away from the mass tourism, you will find some privacy as the beach of Marathias extends for 2 km. Marathias beach wins every year the blue flag for being one of the best and clearer beaches in the Ionian. The evenings offer breathtaking sunset views.
